Preview Video Corruption (MP4//3GP Hauppage Box)

Version: Vegas Movie Studio Platinum HD 11.0 (build 322)

Hey everyone,

I'm having an issue with my preview video showing corrupter frames. When I view the video outside of Vegas Movie Studio it looks and plays fine. I've tried different settings for the preview mode. I ended up turning it back to "Preview>Auto".

It looks like the first few seconds are fine and then the frames start to look green, pink, or a mixture of both throughout the rest of the file. You know, like scrambled porn from when you were a kid.

Is anyone else having this issue? The file imported is about 2:00 (minutes) long.

Thanks,

Mike

Download MediaInfo from Soureforge and post complete data for the file.

Here's the info on the file from MediaInfo. What's weird is I've had other, shorter videos work fine. These longer ones become corrupted in the previewer after a certain period of time down the timeline on the track.

At least my version of Vegas does not import 3GP phone files directly.
You may need to transcode using a third party application first.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

You could try remuxing in AVIDemux first.

Interesting. It's just a video game capture from a Hauppage box.

It still makes me wonder why a good chunk of the head of the file does indeed work. It's "half" supported. :)

Sorry, I misread the FourCC, it is similar to phone file extensions.
Almost all PVR files need to be run through VideoRedo "Quickstream Fix" first to fix indexing errors.

It's not really a mystery. All PVR files started life as transport streams.
Also, I don't know how well Vegas handles VFR, so you may want to see if you can capture CFR (Constant Frame Rate).

Awesome, thanks for the quick responses. I'll make some adjustments and update with my results.
