Preview window quality is different than trimmer video quality.

Former user wrote on 8/31/2016, 9:40 PM

I am running Vegas Pro 13 suitr on a PC with Windows 10 OS.  Also have a graphics card. Not exactly sure when it statrted, buy my preview window video is washed out and/or oversaturated. Trimmer window video is as it should be. Black is black yellow is yellow blue blue and so on.

This occurs despite choice of, camera and camera settings.

I have set all preferences in Vegas back to default to no avail.

Any and all help is genuinely appreciated.

Thank you for your assistance.

is it washed out if you play the trimmer in video preview ?

Eagle Six wrote on 9/1/2016, 4:29 PM

Do you have this clip on the timeline and opened the trimmer from there?  If so, do you have any FX applied to the event that appears in the preview, as that FX will not appear in the trimmer?

Clip is in trimmer, preview and timeline.  NoFX.  Straign from hard drive.

Check your project properties for Pixel format, Composoting Gamma and View Transform. If I switch these to 32bit floating point, 2.222 (Video and ACES RRT (sRGB) I get exactly what you see.

Also check your video bus to ensure there is no FX and active either.

I changed those settings and BAM!  Fixed.  Just curious, what aettibgs do you recommend.  the preview is just a bit (tolerably) brighter than trimmer.  But leaps, bounds and jumps better then 204 hrs ago.

Thanks to all

Which is why I asked you to post a screen shot of your project settings. I would just leave it at 8 bit but it really depends on your source footage.
