Preview window question

I just started using HD 16:9 . In the preview window the safe areas are set up for the old 4:3. How do I change the safe areas for HD?
If someone could give me the steps that would be great. I am new to editing, so please don't leave out any steps, thanks

I *think* what you're after is ..
Right Clck on the preview itself and seleet "Simulate Device Aspect Ratio"

Please make sure your Project settings are correct.

File > Properties > Template

That was the problem the settings where not correct. I am so new at this sometimes the simplest things are hard. It was truley a duh moment. That's for bringing it up. Even though I did figure it out if I hadn't it would have been nice to someone point it out.

Yes.

When I make mistakes, and if I can't make immediate headway with an issue, I start with the TOP level settings and work downwards.

In the past that has meant me understanding just WHY my mpeg rendering wasn't happening. And that was because my CPU was overheating!! Why? 'Cos its cooling fan was full of fluff and fur and feathers and fust!
