Do you by chance have the FX split screen enabled?

danesk47 wrote on 3/15/2018, 9:53 AM

Thanks for prompt response! I played with all settings in the Split Screen View tab and the image remains in just the upper left quarter.

Could you maybe post a screen shot which includes the information around the preview window? That might give us a clue.

Thank you again for your response. I tweaked the settings in all different directions and finally came up with this screenshot,,,shows the full frame now but still small and weird.

Do you have a second monitor too? Your preview on external monitor button is pressed.

The second monitor is an issue also, and perhaps part of the problem...yes, I have a second monitor, but pressing the button does not activate the preview in that monitor.

After restarting Vegas Pro, the weird upper one-fourth reappears as in the first screenshot.

I am sure it is. How are the monitors setup in Windows and are their identification numbers the same in Windows as in Vegas?

The #1 (main) monitor is 3840x2160 , #2 is 1920x1080 and each is identified correctly in the
Windows display settings (both when viewing desktop and when viewing Vegas. #1 on the left. The #2 monitor is perfectly functional in all other apps.

You might try right clicking on your preview window and see if you have "Scale video to fit preview window' checked.

danesk47 wrote on 3/15/2018, 12:53 PM

Thanks for your note. Yes I have tried that also...no luck.

And how does Vegas identify them? With the same numbers?

Vegas identifies them correctly, same as Windows. However, when I remove check from 'Wait for vertical sync", clicking the external monitor button opens a full screen image on the *main* monitor, not the second monitor. This is progress, I think, but cannot edit, color grade, etc. when main monitor is full screen with image.

I saw exactly the same on my screen with VMS 12.
Probably after a Windows Update. so I tried some other settings in the Comptability mode (starting pic settings) Windows is using to start the prgram.
Setting the DPI-scaling on "system" solved for me this problem

Thanks for your response, Former users. VP 14 runs fine on my machine (even 4K proxies), and I can simply drag the preview window over to the second monitor, so I've wasted my $ on VP 15.
