I just re installed Movie Studio 8C and need help setting up one thing.

In the bottum right hand side of the screen is the Prevue window and under it it says the Projec Size is 720 x 480 and I am ok with that.

But the size under that is for I think Prevue Size and it says 320 x something.

Do I have to undoc the Window to resize the indow and then Dock it again???

The preview size is how large the window is on your computer monitor, and has nothing to do with the video itself. If you undocked it you could probably drag it out to 720x480, but if you docked it again it would shrink back to 320x240 to fit.

Don't worry about it.

hehe...

thebrain, I was just thinking the other day that we haven't heard from you for a while.

Anyway, to change the Preview size... at the top of the Preview window (when docked) you'll see the Preview Quality button, click the down arrow next to it, choose one of the quality settings (Draft, Preview, Good, Best), then one of the size settings (Auto, Full, Half, Quarter). If auto size, the amount of space you give it will determine the size it uses.

OK my Monitor is a 28 inch screen so I can make my Prevue window bigger then it is and still have a lot of room.

So I undocked the Prevu window and I left the Project size at 720 x 480 that is ok. But I re sized the Prevue window till it says Prevue Size 720 x 480 and then re docked it and it stayed like that and I like it and all is OK.

But I need some help understanding how the Prevue Dropdown Menue works??

I dropdown the list and pick Best because my System can is up to speed and can take it.

But off from the Best option says FULL AUTO DRAFT
If I pick BEST and then AUTO what will this do???
or if I pick BEST and then FULL what will this do??
Thanks

The size (resolution) of the preview will automatically adjust depending on the size of the preview window so you see all of the video (entire frame).

or if I pick BEST and then FULL what will this do??

The size (resolution) of the preview will stay full regardless of the preview window size. If you make the window too small you won't see all of the video.

Help can explain it much better than I... Help > Contents & Index > Search Tab > type "preview window" > Video Preview Window > Adjust the preview quality and resolution.

Try it each way and adjust the window size to see how each option affects what you see. Trying different settings is the best way to see what the program is capable of.
