Tried a stack of Primera's new printable DVD-Rs and am pretty impressed with the results.
The coating has a satin finish feel, both before and after printing and is highly resistant to smudging when exposed to moisture.
It's pretty humid here, about 60% relative. Within three minutes of printing I tried a wet finger test - no ink on the finger, and no gummy feeling like I normally get with darker patterns. The white is brighter than other brands I've used and appears to be slightly more opaque where it transitions to the clear hub area.
I also tried spritzing the surface with a spray or water, enough to leave drops standing on the surface for about 15 seconds. I then rubbed it dry with a paper towel. No ink on the towel. The surface does show some dark spots where the water stood, but they seem to be lessening with time.
Not silk screening, but I'm going to put away my can of Krylon.
Printing done with a Primera Signature Pro, setting at "Presentation 1200" with Ink saturation set at 50.
