Select it all, copy (CTRL-C), go to Word (or some other text program) and paste (CTRL-V)

I believe a lot of people would welcome a tool to export/import all text from all events on a track in one go. Bubbski has asked (in another thread) about adding another set of subtitles. You could just write a text file with dividers, import it and automatically inherit all the formatting while the text itself gets replaced.

I don't know what we can expect from the next Vegas version. But improvements on the handling of text is one request that has been aired quite often around here. I'll be surprised if nothing happens in that department. (And I'm one who usually speaks up loudly for the Vegas text generator. I think it's a marvellous and much underestimated tool. It's not beyond improvement, though.)

Shouldn't that be a fairly trivial task for a script?
Vegas supports it for adding subtitles into WMV files, it shouldn't be rocket science to write a script that reads an excel file or an Access database.
Guess I'd better shutup before someone makes me stay back until it's written.

Nope. Currently can't access that information.

Huh. I selected and right clicked with no result. Should have done my homework. Thanks, DGrob

Even though I highlight all 200 lines (shift-select), contrl c to Word to contrl v only copies 1 line. How can I copy and paste all 200 lines???

How about a snapshot from the preview window? Not perfect, but workable. John

DGrob,
Unfortunately it can only be done in one text event at the time. Ctrl A, Ctrl C and then to Word: Ctrl V.

Oops: Sorry, you said scrolling credits. Might be a bit different there. I hardly use the stuff.
