Print-to-Tape

Hello everyone! It looks like I am not the only one having trouble sending my finished movie back to my DV Camcorder. I feel like I've done everything right. The raw footage captured was NTSC DV. After editing, I rendered my movie using the NTSC DV parameters. I followed the instructions in Video Capture regaring sending my finished movie back to the DV Camcorder. In the playback mode when I press Print-to Tape all I get is a pixelated image with sporadic blue screen. Has anyone done this successfully? If so, please le me know what I am missing.

Thanks!

Could be a bus problem but try restarting your computer. Do nothing else.
(don't run any other applications after rebooting except Video Capture)
Try printing to tape and see if pixels have disappeared and it prints to tape.
It's worth a shot. Worked for me. : )

I got exactly what you described, mostly blue screens, whenever I tried to print back to my DV camcorder. I solved the problem by turning off DMA on my harddrives whenever I am printing to tape. I also make sure the HD is defragged before starting. This is kind of weird; everything that I have seen says to make sure DMA is turned on. It doesn't work that way for me with my VIA chipset motherboard.

There are known problems with VIA chipset motherboards and bandwidth issues on the 1394 bus and Windows. If your BIOS includes a PCI latency setting, try increasing the setting above 32. If using a VIA motherboard, check the VIA Web site for updated motherboard drivers (VIA 4 in 1 Service Pack).
