I am trying to print to tape from thew timeline on vv3 but when the computer sends the video to my sony trv17 camcorder sometimes it drops out ( i guess) because it leaves some gray squares on the screen. I have also noticed that if i try to preview to dv device, and i move the mouse while in stop, those same gray squares appear on my camcorder lcd display. any ideas? more ram (i have 384mb)? i am so close to getting this whole thing to work...please help!

Another thing you can do is render in a huge AVI file before printing to DV. Then print to DV from the timeline. You might also want to check if your drives are defragmenting. Also you could also lower your screen resolution when printing to DV, that might help.

But it actually sounds like you have IRQ conflicts. Try out the above, if it doesn't work out, then try to figure out what kind of conflict is found on your system. Good luck!

Make sure DMA is enabled on your hard driver/controllers via Device Manager.

What OS/DV device/computer hardware?
