Here's a starting point in SF Knowledge Base. "How to ensure successful DV Capture and Print to Tape." This can be a very complex issue, I've struggled with PTT for some time before finding my solutions. Give this a read and ensure you're implementing all the basic recommendations, defragging, silencing background applications, etc.

I just experienced the same error. I never saw the error using SF.....but have gotten it the last few times i've printed to by SONY VX2000. It does not always occur at the same place....

If you find your fix...please share.

I couldn't find a fix to the problem, but what I do now is take the whole avi file, import into premiere. and print for the timeline with no problems. I knew premiere was good for something.

Funny! I was just about to post about the exact same thing. I just experienced
this, but the strange thing is, the device kept recording, though the time code
stopped. I decided to let it finish and go back to the point where the message
occured, and see what happened, no glitch of any kind.

The reason I went to print to tape through vid capture was, I kept getting a error
on my camera when I print to tape from timeline, saying "copy inhibit" which in my
user manual for the camera (sony trv20) say that message means the tape contains copyright control signals. How could that be?

Anywho, I just recently upgraded to (Windows XP), from (Win. Me) and thought my
troubles were over. I also shoot with sony vx2000, and the canon gl1, but do all
capture and PTT with a trv20. Never had any problems with VV3

Hopefully we can find a sollution. Thanks,

kpitrl
