Print to tape error 0X800705aa

videone wrote on 2/1/2005, 9:48 AM
Using Vegas 4 without problems up until today...when I choose print to tape, following renedering, I get an error message: 0X800705aa (message missing). I'm running a P4 2.4 Gh with 768Mb Ram...200GB hard drive (just defragged)...I'm open for suggestions.

Is there a setting somewhere that needs to be switched?

I'm a little surprised no one responded to this...am I the only one with this problem?

If anyone else has this error message I did seem to fix it by re-installing the version 4.e update.

Everything is now working as it should (so far).

I have exactly the same problem. Furthermore, When I try to print to tape, Vegas either claims that 98% of the video needs to be converted, when the input video on the timeline is a DV straight from tape, that is when the print option was still working. When I try the "capture video" dialog window in the 3rd tab where it send video to tape, I select the DV file and Vegas, for whatever reason says the video cannot be opened and can't give any specific reason.

@sfthegreat.

Can you confirm you are still using VP4e? Whilst many will remember Vegas from 15 years ago I doubt we still have it loaded on pc's.

Did you add any effx to the video on the timeline?

Otherwise known as "Export to Tape", or "Saving to a Camera". I'm surprised anyone does it nowadays but then this is a nearly 16 years old thread!

Nothing, I placed on the timeline DV-AVI file straight from Scenalyzer, that has Type2, with description that it's "for Premiere, Vegas, etc". No effects, timeline conformed to the videotype, when the popup window appears when I drag the first video file.

It might sound silly, but I'm looking for a way to send video from PC through Firewire (I use FW-Thunderbolt adaptor, that might be the root of the problem, even though I have IEEE1394 driver installed) through camcorder, or DV VCR and out via analog outputs to record on VHS, as I want to record several concerts on VHS for the local bands I know and that are into that sort of stuff and I wanted to avoid burning DVDs, as it does a lot of compression and it's simply a waste, as it creates garbage item. As for the 16years old thread, I thought it would be pointless to cerate yet another thread with the same problem, better to continue the thread to contain all the knowledge in one place, also I felt sorry for OP, he never got the solution.

My guess would be that the adaptor is the problem. Are you running a Mac? Do the bands actually have VCRs that still work? (just curious, not criticizing). Surprising you feel that DVDs are garbage. I find the quality, if done correctly, very close to original. You could also consider Bluray which is much better than DVD and at least close to current technology.

Winddows 10 HP, perhaps I should try programs with compatibility mode.

Yes, some even considered it an interesting idea to do small runs of VHS tapes, like 10 copies, in fact one of the bands I know, Nightrun87 is releasing his concert from lats year on VHS, though I am not making them.

I can see compression artifacts on commercial films on DVD, that are DVD9s, BD is better indeed, but it still creates a burned disc that I will have no use of and will contribute to the global waste.
