Print to tape from timeline not working correctly.

When I purchased VV3 one of the features I was really excited about was the ability to print to tape from the timeline. Unfortunately I've been unable to get it to work so far. When I try it, VV3 pre-renders all the necessary parts and then my camcorder goes into what appears to be standby-pause while the video starts playing. The camcorder never goes into record. The camcorder is a JVC GR-DVF11 and otherwise it works great with device control while capturing or printing to tape using VideoCapture3. Any ideas on what I could try to make it work?

Is this device a DV deck?

The JVC GR-DVF11 is a MiniDV camcorder. It seems to work fine with video capture, but when printing to tape from timeline the transport goes into standby instead of record.

Have you tried printing with device control disabled? With that setting, VV will complete its prerendering, then prompt you to manually initiate your DV decks record mode, click OK (or continue or whatever it's called) in VV and the printing process continues.

If that's the only problem you have, the above procedure will get your project to tape while you sort out the glitch.

Hope this helps.

The manual process works fine! I think the problem is in the camcorder transport. VV3 can only put it in REC standby but not in record (but then again Video Capture puts it in record). I also just figured out that I can use the camcorder START/STOP button to go into REC while in vtr mode. The transport controls on the camcorder do not include a record button, so I was a little puzzled for a while about how to get it to go into record!.
