Print To Tape problem with Canopus ADVC-100

I have the Canopus ADVC-100 and a D-Link DFW500 Firewire card. I can capture with no problems at all but when I print to tape, it looks like I'm dropping frames. I have tried this with stock DV footage that has no filters or transitions at all and I can view it in the preview window at 29.97fps with no problems. Can anybody help? I'd really like to transfer some of my videos to VHS tape. Thanks.

I tried searching the forums for "Print To Tape" before posting this but got 46,000 results so I figured I'd just ask the question rather than spending the whole weekend reading.

I read that there are compatibility issues with my firewire card and the ADVC-100. Could this be the problem? It captures fine so I doubt that's the cause but who knows. Thanks.

I've had so many problems with the Canopus ADVC-100 that I've given up whining about it. I know it's supposed to be foolproof and flawless according to all the posts I've read but I've had nothing but problems with it... even after changing my firewere card 3 times. I can't be that much of a technical dunce because I've been able to configure everything else successfully and do all other kinds of caputuring, outputting, etc. This one has me stumped.

bstaley, are you seeing any blue pixelated frames on the output?

Thanks!

Tanjy, from your previous posts, I wasn't able to gleam any info except that you had a defective ADVC-100 unit and that you were sending it back...or that you were going to get a Canon ZR.../TRV17.

Please, post more information as this isn't very helpful for resolving your problems.
