print to tape problems

I'm using VideoFactory 2C. After rendering I can't print to tape satisfactorily. Whilest the title prints OK, the movie is pixelated as if the picure has been scrambled, and the sound too seems to be broken up. I've changed tapes and the problem still persists. The file has been saved as avi, PAL format.
When I use Windows Movie Maker to print to tape _ there's NO problem yet Video Factory won't.
Any suggestions.

Which template did you use to render the avi?

The template was PAL DV

I think you need the "Default (Uncompressed)" template.

I'm not sure if i can help your problem, but i can confirm that you have to render to DV in order to print to tape. Use either the default NTSC DV .avi template or the default PAL DV .avi template, depending on which is appropriate in your area. Do not make any changes whatsoever to the template. If you make any custom changes at all then the file won't be compatible with DV firewire transfers to the camcorder.
