Print-To-Tape punch in at a specific frame

The IRQ problem/solution has greatly improved my print-to-tape without dropouts. But I'll still get a few dropouts here and there. I'm too anal to let that go. So I started experimenting with punching in to re-record right when the dropout occurs. This means I need to punch in at a specific frame.

With my TRV900, if I set the tape at position X, it starts recording at position X - 2 frames. Seems consistent. I have not yet checked to see if there are any skipped or duplicate frames. I'll do that next.

I'm wondering if anyone has covered this ground before. I'm having a hard time finding anything on the subject. I'd also like a little more explanation about the settings in the print-to-tape preferences. TIA.

starting record at an exact timecode # on a camcorder is going to be hit and miss- these aren't editing decks. Your best bet is to tweak your system (defrag, DMA, no other apps running, etc) and print the entire program.
