Print to tape record button is missing

I am now able to capture video. However, I’m still not sure how the file system work. I’ve no doubt this will become clear in time.

I now have another problem, when I try to print to tape the print to tape record button is missing. Its just not anywhere to be found.

Reading the forums I see that print to tape may not work if the wrong template is used. However, I have been using the same template (AVI PAL) for the last 6 months in Video Factory without any problems. I am also able to print AVI PAL files rendered in Vegas in Video Factory OK.

Any ideas on this one.

Something to check - do you have the "record enable" switch on your DV cassette set???

This caught me out the other day :-)

Also, from the Vidcap30 screen, there is a white box on the right hand side of the screen where you cue up files to be printed to tape. Although it wouldn't appear that this box would overlap and hide the record to device button, it can. Try dragging the edge of that box a bit to the left, and I bet your missing button will show up.

I searched for this button for several days until someone cued me about that box. The edge that can make your record button disappear does not appear to be an edge.

Hope this helps.
