Print to tape render

HELP !!! Why does an already rendered file has to render after I choose the print to tape option and is there a awy around this time consuming event?
Are those renders to something else than an AVI? Thank in advance.

Print to tape from the timeline will always render the audio for the whole project to .W64 format first. As far as i know, there is no way around this. This rendering step should be pretty fast though.
