Print to Tape Settings (please reply)

Hi,

I am capturing dv avi type2 (from my dv camcorder) and then edit in vegas video 3c.

I would like to send the edited video back to my camcorder (sony dcr-pc101e) so that i can connect my camcorder to a standalone dvd recorder and record my edited video to dvd-r.

Please someone inform me what settings should i use because when i get to the point of "leader & trailer" i have to set the leader test pattern style. What should i set for pal dv????

Or is there another way??? Say render as pal dv avi with vegas video and then send the dv avi to my camcorder with another prog?

Thank you all in advance and sorry for my poor english.

The best way is by print to tape in the capture tool, not in the timeline, because the leader becomes unpredictable in duration.

I've made a leader with my own colors bars and saved it to aan avi fle, then put it on the capture tool and this is all. It works very well and no waiting time for the leader.

My english is poor to ;-)

Where you are?, I'm in Spain.

I'm near Barcelona...

I was thinking that I was the only user of Vegas here ;-) All the people use Premiere.

Hey, Maybe we should start a Vegas Barcelona user group..! all 3 of us...You Catalan/Spanish btw? I'm British but born here.
As far as Vegas, I agree...No-one seems to know about it over here. I came across it in PC PLus a few months back where they did a comparison on NLEs and Vegas was ranked in the top. Im only a hobbyist but after checking the web finally decided to buy Vegas. Great progamme.

Do you need a leader? If not, leave it out. BUT, as someone else pointed out recently on this forum: Never record anything important at the very beginning of a tape. Always let it run for at least 10 seconds before you start.

1-minute pattern (to adjust size, contrast, ..., on TV). With some background music (to adjust sound level, spacialization, etc.). Then, 10-sec black silent screen.
If needed, I can pause in the black screen, to let the audience sit and be quiet. Then, the works !

Not less to me.

Saludos, cheers,
