"So I can't confirm the timeline to a format, . . . " - Mark, I don't understand what you mean here?

Are you in the "Conform to DV Format"? OR have you gone further - say to the "Custom Template" - CT menu? If you are in this - CT - and you haven't got anything selected EXCEPT "Default Template", you wont, and by definition, see any descriptions of the templates available. That's the ONLY way I can see where you would get this situtation.

IF you have got PAL DV selected in this CT menu then go to the drop down menu and select the PAL DV template and the descriptions will re-appear.

Any good?

Thanks for your reply Grazie.. the thing is: I press 'print video to DV Tape' in the Tools menu. Then there's this dialog box (VV3 btw) that makes you choose a template.. but there's nothing to choose from. Clicking the 'custom' button doesn't work either...

Another thing is: I have 2 avi's, making 1 movie together. But when I render them to a new track (so I can print to tape in capture) it only renders the first part.. even when I make a loop region for the whole movie?

Think I should reinstall??

thx
Mark

WHoa!!! Has it ever worked?

Yep! worked fine before.. can't think of anything I've changed in configuration.. really puzzles me now..

I'm even using the same Canon XL-1 camera, device = connected and working.. And connecting to .avi's into one bigger one really seems to be a big problem. Good thing there's the 'split' function, but why can't there be a 'merge' of 'join' function.. just like in good old Cooledit ;)

I'll try again tomorrow..

goodday!

I've just had exactly the same problem in VV30c - eventually discovered that the problem was caused by the pluginpac frameserver plug-in I'd been trying out - uninstalled it and normal print-to-tape functionality was restored.
