Icannot print back to tape from Vegas to my Sony TRV950V camcorder. Down loads are fine.
Can anyone suggest why this happens and how the problem may be resolved or solved.
How about some more specifics? Where are you attempting to print from? Rendered file or print to tape tool? format? Can you preview vid during editing on your TRV950?
Thank you Spot for the comments
1. I cannot preview on the camcorder
.
2. The OHCI Compliant IEEE 1394V device in the Preferences/Video devices tab of Preferences (in Vegas) gives the following details:
This device supports recompression
Hotpluggable device
Device connected
3 There is 50 GB available on the hard drive for prerecorded files.
4. The screen on the camera indicates DV IN and the red recording indicator shines but no DV IN is recorded. The printing to tape window in Vegas remains at 0% even though the elapsed time indicator shows progress.
It would appear to me that Vegas can control the camera (as it does when capturing) but there is no video out to the camera.
I ran into a similar problem - did not spend enough time with it to find the Vegas solution.
I had a pre-rendered (Vegas) AVI that I was trying to put on tape - it would not go.
Rather than fight it, I simply opened the rendered AVI using Pinnacle Studio, and output it to tape - changing nothing on the camera - not editing the AVI.
(The material was captured using Vegas)
So apparently the problem I had was in how Vegas was configured.
Any common gotcha's?
Does your TRV have a DV in/out switch? You are in VCR mode on the TRV, correct? Have you tried plugging, unplugging camera? Checked/swapped out cables?
3. Plugging /unplugging has no effect other than turning the DV IN indicator on/ off on the TRV screen
Therfore I go with your suspicion that the video signal is not being sent. Will try another cable, but will give Express's suggestion a shot before shelling out for a ner Firewire cable.
Many thanks to all for your ideas, help and support.
The DV IN/OUT feature can be found in the setup menu on Sony Camcorders. While your problem sounds more like a cable or connector problem, I would recommend that you first go to the DV IN/OUT menu, and change the setting from IN to OUT (or vice versa). Try the preview and the print to tape again and see if it works.
