What loss is there by printing to a DV tape and then burning a DVD on a stand alone burner. (Panasonic DMR-HS2) By doing this it seems quicker but what am I losing.
What you are losing is the ability to set your own encode settings. This may not be much of an issue for you.
By the way, you don't have to print to tape first. You could go directly to the DVD recorder if your camcorder outputs analog A/V from it's firewire input.
The Panasonic doesn't read data from a computer only a camcorder. It's still a DV/DV translation. What is encoding sessions, if you don't mind me asking?
