I've been using Vegas' Capture application with no problems with my JVC combo mini-DV/SVHS deck for a while. For the first time, I tried to Print to Tape and all it put on the tape for the duration of the rendered DV clip was a lovely shade of jet black and no audio. I also tried the corresponding item under the Tools menu with the same result. The Print to Tape function correctly controls the JVC deck to begin and end recording. The clip I'm trying to "print" was rendered as a DV AVI file. It plays just fine in my various media players. I suppose I could also try another software tool to fulfill the "print to tape" function, but I'd rather not if I can avoid it.

I'll try it with one of my cameras tomorrow, but I thought I'd ask to see if anyone has encountered this before. I'd rather use my camera as a camera as opposed to using it as a general purpose deck.
