Printing to tape problems...PLEASE HELP!

I can not get my video or audio to print to tape. This is my first time doing it. I am trying to do it from the capture program. It keeps giving me a splat thing that says, "An invalid device is specified...." so it can't print it. What do I do?

You are rendering in Vegas using the uncompressed render template, which is not compatible with output to a DV device. If using a DV device, you should render in Vegas using the DV NTSC or DV PAL templates.

I used the NTSC compression thing...heh...because I couldn't put it anywhere without compression due to write space or something. I don't know what a DV device means or is exactly, but I am trying to print to tape through a ATI TV wonder card, to my VCR?!?!?! Thanks for replying...what am I doing wrong?

Have you de-selected the 'control device' in the capture program?
