Pro 19 (build 424)

All works fine whilst editing using 6 camera multi-cam. Then, when I go to render it is pot luck whether it works or not! It will freeze at various points randomly, then occasionally it works but more often than not it crashes. Disappointed and frustrated.

System - Intel i5 3330 CPU @ 3.00 GHz - 16GB RAM - SSD drives (2 x 1TB) + 1 IDE 2TB for storage.

Windows 10

Pro 19 (build 424)

I have had to stop using Pro 19 and reverted to Pro 12 which works and has done for years.

That is probably not surprising with your computer's 3rd gen CPU from almost 10 years ago. Please see the recommended minimum system specs for Vegas Pro 19: https://www.vegascreativesoftware.com/us/specifications/#productMenu

There were significantly lesser recommended minimum specifications for Vegas Pro 12 which was released nearly 10 years ago.

You've likely got a choice of sticking with Vegas Pro 12 with your current computer or upgrading your computer in order take advantage of current programs like Vegas Pro 19.

For rendering try to make 19 work like 12. Go to file i/o and enable legacy AVC. Change hardware decoding to none. Render to MagixAVC (Mainconcept) and not QSV or NVENC. If you still can't get through a render under preferences/video turn off GPU acceleration.

Beyond that this hardware is way below the minimums for 19 so I'd probably stay with 12 until I got a newer PC. I used to use 12 myself until 2017 or so and it was very reliable though there have been a lot of improvements since those days.

Just up-dated today so will now test again. Have been waiting for a break in productions and will now spend some available time trying to get it to work. I realise my system is not new but I thought it covered all the specs required to run Pro 19. (i5 - 4 core 3GHz - 16GB Ram - NVIDEA GTX1050Ti with 4GB Ram). Everything works well but rendering (main concept to Architect DVD or Blu-ray) is a lottery. Occasionally it works but seems to take a long time and randomly just stops.

Do not save any of your previous projects in B636. Rename them.

I can't comment on DVD or Bluray burning since I never do that. Others might chime in with beneficial information to help you.

Intel i5 3330 CPU is not up to specs. VP 18/19 wants a 6th generation or newer Intel processor while yours is 3rd generation. Ram and video card is fine.

Try disabling the GPU as I suggested and see if the render completes.

Will do.. thankyou

For VP19, I think that you have may have missed the 6th gen i5 for HD or 7th gen i7 for 4K bits. But OTOH, when I first got VP18 (same min specs as per VP19) I had an i7-4770 CPU and, though AI features didn't work, 4K editing (though with sluggish timeline performance) and rendering to 1920x1080 25 fps MAGIX/AVC or Sony XAVC worked without a problem.
