Pro 9.0c - can't insert velocity envelopes

Weird - this is something I do ALL the time - now all of a sudden it won't work.

Specs:
using NeoScene conversions of Canon5D mov's.

Click the video>Insert>Video Envelopes>Event Velocity
It puts an X by the Event Velocity, but I don't see any Velocity line on the timeline, in the clip.

right now I'm speeding up footage by CTRL/Dragging it shorter, but I miss the total control.

As an experiment, I also tried to insert an Audio Envelope>Volume - same thing - won't draw

I've probably messed up some button...
any ideas??

One possible might be this:

Click View / Video Envelopes / Event Velocity.
Make sure Event Velocity is checked.

Another possible:

Click OPTIONS.
Hold down the shift key.
Click Preferences
Click Internal (upper right tab)
In the search box at the bottom, enter "show event envelopes"
Click in the "Value" field (at the top) and enter TRUE.
Click Apply (at the bottom)
Click OK.

What I know about Vegas I learned from Spot's book -- and right here. I'm far from an expert but someone before me took the time to answer back --- now and then it's my turn I guess.

Anyway, glad to help out Vic. By the way, your spot for Delray Beach looked great.

I'd recently asked the opposite question, how to turn them off!
Reason to turn envelopes off is once you have a lot of tracks with a lot of envelopes it feels like walking on egg shells as its way too easy to bump something. Probably worth keeping in the back of the head that you can also selectively turn envelopes on and off. Doing that simply hides them, it doesn't delete them.

That way the "undo" history is critical in big projects. The Photoshop approach to view history changes would be a critical feature in vegas for pros and everyone else! ;-) Also locking tracks, be great. I use nested vegs to do this locking effect when possible. ;-)

I think you are saying that Vegas does have an undo history -- for those who don't know where it is see the Vegas help on "UNDO and REDO". I use UNDO a lot (CTRL+Z) , an often use REDO (CTRL+Y) -- but just about never use the history.

Undo a series of actions
Click the arrow next to Undo button . A list of the most recent actions that you can undo is displayed.
Select the action you want to undo. If the action does not appear in the list, use the scroll bar to scroll through the list. The selected action and all actions above it are reversed.
