Pro Titler Background Color

All:

I'm sure this is a total NOOB question, but I didn't find it in a search of this forum. Within Pro Titler, I have set the Preview Properties -> Preview Tab -> Background to a Custom Color (purple-ish), yet the in the Vegas preview window and output render the background is black!

What am I doing wrong? Or is that that background setting only pertains to while you're working WITHIN the titler?

Thanks,
Paul (just getting around to trying Pro Titler)

IT's just the preview window - afterall, look at the generated media itself - it's on a transparent background (and it's also under the preview tab :) )

Just make a new track underneath with a solid color/color gradient generated media

Ken:

Thanks for the quick reply. Yes, just after I posted my message I noticed that the background was indeed transparent and put in a gradient track underneath. Doh! : )

For a background in pro titler you create a text block, remove text, then click background then size to where you want. Great for lower thirds. Is that the question ?

Jimmyz:

No, I was asking about the color of the entire window - which Ken answered. I do appreciate the reminder about making lower thirds - I had read that somewhere but had forgotten it [oh, the story of my life! : ) ]. Thanks.

It does color the whole window. It's a text box but sized larger than the window. I keep a preset just for that. Then add a second text box for the text.
Thats what works for me. Hope this helps.
