Pro Type Titler: no edit window?

GFFmatt wrote on 6/23/2009, 6:35 PM
I'm brand new to Vegas Pro 9.

I'm trying to make a title but when I drag down the pro type titler from the media generator to the timeline, there is no edit window that pops up as I see in every youtube tutorial (and as explained in the Vegas user guide). I imagine I have some setting messed up but I cannot figure this out. Why won't the pro type titler window pop up ?
please help!

Double click the blue bar at the top of the titler box -- this should reset it.

My apologies, but I am too stupid to understand that.

What is the titler box? I see no blue bar. I'm terribly sorry, could you be more specific?

Thanks!

First -- are you using Vegas Pro 9 ? Just checking...if you are ..are you able to drag and drop other "events" on your timeline? Is everything else working ok for you? Is it just ProType Titler that's the problem?
If so .... then ....

From the View menu, choose Media Generators to display the Media Generators window.
In the left pane, select the ProType Titler plug-in. The available presets are displayed in the right pane.
Drag a preset to a position on the timeline to create a generated media event.

Make sure you left click on the "empty" preset, hold it down and drag it up to the timeline and drop it. At that point, the ProType Tiltler window should open. Normally it opens a very large floating window -- but it could be that the window has been sized to something very small. This is where double clicking the top of this window (on the blue bar) resets it to normal size. You could also drag the window to a larger size by grabbing a corner and pulling it like any other floating window......If you don't see the TItler window open but you have dropped the preset on the timeline and you see it sitting there .. this is now called "an event" on your timeline. Look for the small green icon in the upper right of that event and click on it. The ProType Titler floating window should open.

If none of this works and NO window is opening at all when you drop a ProType Titler preset on the timeline, then something seems very wrong with your installation and I'd de-install and re-install Vegas Pro 9.

Thanks for all the help! In the end, I just did a re-install. Now the window pops up just like it should. I must have done something to mess it up before but now I've got it working.

Appreciate your time!
