Pro8 - preview does not match rendered

I had to a re-install, and it seems like this install has a quirk. the preview shows or allows me to align vertically two items (two different still images on two tracks). Thier alignment is critical for it look right. When i render it though, one item has moved about 20 pixesl up or down.

Any settings or clues as to why this is such.
version 8.0c build 260, dell pc.

Make sure your preview monitor is set to Best/Full when you're lining things up.

Project settings can affect this I believe. Make sure you are using the correct ones for the format you are working with.

niether of those made any difference.

here is a screen shot. perhaps it would help.

notice the overlay in the preview of the lighted LintAlert. That is how much I had to offset it to get it to render dead on.

also, perhaps the Display: numbers not lining up with the Project may have something to do with it. if it does, how do I adjust that. Thanks
