all of a sudden I'm getting error when I try to capture or print to dv. Microsoft DV camera & vcr could not be opened please make sure it is turned on and is not being used by another application. I have been using this software over3 years and same camera.worked fine last week. My wife installed a palm pilot and I had to delete some temp files could this be the problem?

Does the camera show up in Windows Device Manager? If not, then it is a Windows problem.

You get the "The device 'No Capture Device' could not be opened" if you've removed or deleted the capture folders. I removed 2 of my 3, got the error, and fixed it by going through the steps in KB 951.

One odd thing though, I had to go do Preferences a few times. Even though I made changes and clicked Apply and OK, they didn't always stick, so I had to go through the fix again. It seemed to require that I have the valid folder path highlighted -- it wasn't enough just to click valid/invalid folders on and off.

I hope this helps,

Thanks again Suzan . I did a Search and found your answer posted and when I checked under disk management I had a folder deleted.I was so use to this great program I just panicked.
You all are the best,
