Problem adding transition

First let me say that I have added many, many transitions to various videos, so I am familiar with how they are supposed to work with no problem.

So anyway, I added a couple transistions to this video I'm making now, and they all worked OK except for one, and it just doesn't do anything, and I can't see it on the track.

They're all the same flash transition, nothing special, and I'm just dragging them to the point between videos they should go.

Any ideas what to check?

The most obvious thing to check is that you actually have an overlap between two events at that point, but i'm sure you've already done that.

One thing i've managed to do a few times is to have another event "hiding behind" those on the timeline. If you somehow have three events stacked up at the same place then crossfading can become very messed up or nonexistant.
