Problem capturing using passthrough on camcorder

Hi

I am trying to capture from a SVHS deck through my Sony PC120 camcorder using passthrough. I see the video for a split second then VV insists I put a tape in. If I do that it will only capture from the camcorder and not the passthrough.

I am sure this must be possible to fix - Would be v grateful of any advice thanks

Try turning off device control. In VidCap, go to Options - Preferences and UNCHECK the box that says "Enable DV Device Control".

I have a PC100, and it can't really be done without a tape inserted.
It's a pain, but you can try this method: Disconnect the firewire from cam, start playback on the S-VHS deck and hit record on the DV cam(or vice versa).....Now connect the firewire cable, then start capturing. As you can see....you still end up with a copy recorded to the DV tape, but you might need that anyway......just in case you drop any frames.

Thanks, Jetdv.  I have been trying for hours to remember how to video capture using past through with a Panna PV GS400.  I last did this 15 years ago and I couldn't come up with need to change the device control setting!
