Problem Importing Flash SWF file

tdsilk wrote on 4/11/2005, 10:47 AM
When trying to import a .swf created in FlashPro 2004 I get an error. Are only certain versions (swf) supported when importing into Vegas 5. I'm not at my home computer to give the exact error, but it pops up immediately in a gray dialog box. I also tried creating a swf from another Titling package and the same thing happened. Any one heard of this?

thanks!

Hmmm ...
I use SwishMax not FlashPro. This is able to export into SWH4, SWF5 and SWF6 format. Vegas has no problem importing any of these and playing them.

What build of Vegas 5 are you on? Perhaps update to the latest build, 5.0d, may help.

According to the Vegas manual it says - ActionScript, motion video, and audio are not supported...so if you have any of that....that is probably the problem.

added the latest build and when I attempt to import a simple flash file (.swf) I get the following gray popup dialog box: Warning: An error occurred while opening one or more files. The file is an unsupported format. Reminder, the .swf was created using Flash 2004 Professional. I have also tried swf's created from other apps.

Hi,
If you want to email me the file I'll take a look at it - pauncz [at] attglobal [dot] net

When you export your animation from Flash MX you will need to uncheck "Compress Movie". This option is checked by default in the export dialog.
Also as already mentioned make sure that there is nothing besides vector text in your animation

Hope it helps
