Problem in Track FX

rui-c wrote on 9/5/2016, 7:32 PM

Hey guys,

First post here in the forum, unfortanetly, not for the best reasons...

I'm preparing a video and when i put an effect in the track fx (with the intent of the effect only applying to videos in that track) it starts to overlap with other images, producing undesired results. I've tried finding a solution online but i didnt find any... I'm using the Cookie cutter, and it affects videos (in this case, an image) in other track. It doesn't make sense, unless i'm really stupid and i'm doing a mistake under my nose (which it's likely plausible)

If anyone has a solution, i would bre grateful!

Thanks in advance!

I think we need a bit more information? Can you post a screenshot of what you see and explain what your intended result is supposed to be? We need to see the track where the cookie cutter FX is applied and the track(s) below it too.

Sorry, i sould have posted a picture right away. Image 1 it's what i get if i apply the effects on track FX.

Image 2 it's what i want to achieve(more or less, it's needs to be better integrated with the background), without having to apply the effect in all segmented video (i'm going to alternate the guitar video other another one).

Hope i made myself clear, any question please go ahead :)

Update: Just wanted to say that i kinda figured it out... i couldn't use the cookie cutter in this video, i was doing that wrong... Also, i had to swith the position of composite, so the video wouldn't overlap with image. But still i would want to know more about this, if someone can explain.

did you click the "Make Compositing Child" in the track header of the lower track? then click it again to make Compositing Parent.
