I am having trouble reloading Platinum Version 6 on Vista, after my old laptop using XP went bad.
When I try to load the software, it says "Vegas Movie Studio Platinum requires Micrososft.NET Framework version 1.1 and .Net Framework version 1.1 Service Pack 1"
It opens a download on Sony's website for a file "dotnetfx.exe", but a warning pops up for "Known compatability issues". It then directs to Microsoft's website that wants to download Service Pack 1 file "NDP1.1sp1-KB867460-86.exe"
When I try to run Service Pack 1, a pop up message says
"The upgrade patch cannot be installed by Windows Installer service because the program to be upgraded may be missing, or the upgrade patch may update a different version of the program. Verify that the program to be upgraded exists on your computer and that you have the correct upgrade patch."
It is like chasing your tail. Is the end result that Version 6 won't work on Vista? I couldn't find any information on this Forum about it.
Can anyone help on this? Thank in advance.
