I've been struggling with several problems for some days
now. I work all day and can not use the 1-900 support
line. I bought Video Factory two weeks ago. At the same
time I bought a SIIG 1394 card and fire wire. Since then,
as I've struggled with a steep learning curve, I've bought
and installed a new 30 gig harddrive, Window's ME, and a
Voodoo4 graphics card. I've read every forum posting, the
entire pdf file, my manuals and built-in help programs, the
FAQ section of the web page, and sent an email to the
support address. I've solved most of my problems--in fact, all but
one--but I'm all out of ideas.
I have a PIII, 300MHz computer running Window's ME. My
camcorder is a Panasonic PV/DV 900 and I have a SIIG 1394
card. After I purchased and opened Video Factory I noticed
the minimum requirement of a 400 MHz machine. I called the
support line and was told that it should still work but
that it would run slower. It has, in fact, worked fine and
seems to run well...except for this last problem of
printing to tape.
I cannot get a fully rendered NTSC formated avi file to
record onto tape. When I open the file in Video Capture (the file is
about 5.5 minutes of video with transition effects, scrolling text,
text, and three audio tracks) all appears to be fine. Video Capture
automatically sets itself into Playback Mode and the very first frame
of the rendered video appears on my camcorder. If I click on "View
on Camara" and Play, the camcorder starts trying to play, but only
gets about a second before flickering between images of my video and
a blue screen. "Record to Camera" has the same result.
I've tried playing an ultered file on my camera--I captured 30
seconds of video and then switched to Playback Mode to try to view it
on the camara. I get the same result--flickering image and blue
screen. I've tried adjusting those two settings that change the
record delays (I can't remeber their names now, but they were set on
something like 1415 ms and ... I can't recall the other). No help.
I'm now stumped. Please tell me there is an easy fix. I
hope it is not the processor.
