Problem Printing To Tape - No Video

Hello,

I am having problems printing to tape using Sony Vegas 9.0d. I have used print to tape before but I have not used it since I installed on my Windows 7 - 64 bit system. When printing to tape, I select the tape so it appears in the list on the left. I click on the "Record to device" button. The device starts recording but no video is sent to the device. There is no video on the camcorder screen during recording, just the index time. If I hit stop, rewind the tape and play it back, there is no video. I have tried recording to two different sony cameras.

I am transferring a standard definition AVI file. When I press the play button in the preview window on the sony capture applicaiton on the "Print to tape" tab, it displays the video fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Robert

Regardless of DV-25 or HDV, I am fairly sure the content you are printing has to be in the native format ... no?

Does it automatically transcode the .AVI to the native format, via firewire, on the fly? ... huh.

= just askin' = (shrug)

Hello Alvin,

Yes, it is in native AVI format. I can copy a video from the camera to the HD drive but that same AVI video cannot be copied back to the camera.
