Stop reinstalling Vegas.

The error is saying you need to repair or reinstall Microsoft C++ Redistributable 2015 on your Windows Operating System.

Aline-Oliveira wrote on 8/1/2024, 4:01 PM

I did that, deleted all of them and reinstalled 2015, but didn´t work. Still the same!

One must not uninstall or remove previous versions of Microsoft C++ Redistributable.

Many other programs on your Windows Computer still depend on the older embedded versions in order to run. How are programs that were written in 2013 /2014 going to run without C++ 2012?

Please spank whoever told you to do that!!??😱😖 Going forward, only trust information from Microsoft or reputable sources.

1. You will now need to restore a recent Disk Backup Image of your Windows Operating System, or a complete scratch OS install, since some essential versions of C++, including the venerable 4.x, cannot be reinstalled any other way.

2. Once that is done, this would be the time to reinstall Vegas, along with any other programs that have gone belly up.

Good luck, and the official support link for Vegas is at the top of the forum page. Sorry you ended up in a pickle.

@Aline-Oliveira Or better yet, try installing the latest Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable package, that basically covers everything.

mark-y wrote on 8/1/2024, 6:23 PM

Steve, last time I tried on Windows 10, the 4.0 / 4.5 versions, which are important to most installations, can't be installed from any external download, only from a disk backup or clean OS install. If you have information of that changing recently, please let me know, thanks. It may open a bigger can of worms for a new user, as Aline seems to be.

Interested in hearing Aline's outcome.
