Problem viewing MPEG-2 video on Windows 200 Media player - googled like nuts, but NOTHING!

When I watch my rendered video in MPEG-2 format on a friend's computer, I get "Sending request for codec" "Error downloading codec" on Windows Media Player.

Anything I can do to change this?

I have googled this like crazy and searched the forums, but NOTHING!!

Guys - SOS...911...

ANYONE?!

You're getting that message because your friend's computer doesn't have the MPEG-2 codec on it (and it's not free, BTW). If a software DVD player of some sort was installed, this problem would go away.

As an alternative you could render to WMV (Microsoft's file format) and then nobody with a recent version of their media player will have problems seeing your videos. If you have it, Flash without any additional add ons can embed video, which is what I did with my tutorials. Their player is free and installs transparently.
