Are you getting a specific error message from Windows? Remember virtual memory is realy space set aside on your hard drive. Unless you have a very small or very full drive you should easily be able to do a 40 min project.

Anyhow... you can split your project up if you like. Move over the timeline, hold down left mouse and drag. A line above the timeline will indicate what part of the timeline is slected. Render, selecting 'render loop region only' Repeat until you have the whole project.

Once done you could try starting a new project and drop all the parts on the timeline and render again. It may or may not solve your problem. You could also put the project back together again using another application like TEMPGnc.

I think the real issue is either you've run out of hard drive space and/or the swap file or page file depending on your file system got damaged or corrupted. To fix totally delete it, then run a checkdisk in case there is any file system errors, (check auto repair) then defrag your drive, then make a new swap or page file.
