I am trying to create a picture in picture effect with Vegas Pro 9.0c (64 bit ) using Windows 7. I have not previously experienced any problems with this version of Vegas, but for reasons that baffle me the program is behaving in an erratic fashion.
I have 3 video tracks. The first 2 have a single still picture(Jpeg) which is cropped and panned and then adjusted for position using track motion. The third track contains an AVCHD clip which is also adjusted for position using track motion. Initially (first few seconds) all seems fine and then the still pictures refuse to show in the video preview screen. If I mute the other 2 tracks this does not restore the "lost" image. If I make a track "solo" this does not restore the image. If I create a new video track and drag the still picture to it at a later point on the timeline the picture remains invisible in the video preview. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Vegas without resolve.
If I use Vegas 8.1 or Vegas 9( (non 64 bit) with the same media with the same formating everything works fine. Can anyone suggest what the problem might be.
