Greetings, everyone!
First what works:
Using the LEAD MJPEG codec, I can successfully import and edit MJPEG files from my Canon S2 IS. No problem there.
Problems:
1) When I try to render in Vegas Pro in AVI using the LEAD MJPEG codec, I get a file that plays only audio in a media player (like WMP or Real). However, I *can* re-import that resultant file into Vegas and see both audio and video (not that I want to, just for troubleshooting info).
LEAD says this:
"Our codec only affects video compression and decompression, so this point is most likely related to the playing or conversion software, or to audio codecs installed on your PC."
It seems to me that if I can import and edit MJPEGS from the camera using the LEAD codec, the codec is fine. Could there be something I'm doing wrong in Vegas?
2) I have installed the LEAD MJPEG2K codec as well, but cannot find it in the Vegas AVI codecs when I try to render. LEAD says that Vegas must support DirectShow natively, and not just the "old VFW" codecs. Does Vegas do this, and if so, what could be the reason the MJPEG2K codec isn't showing up. It doesn't show up as an option in my Movavi Video Converter software either.
Thanks for your help!
