Problem with my saved Timeline (within Sony Vegas Pro 14.0)

Hello. First, some system info: HP Notebook, WIndows 10 Home, 64-bit OS, 8GB RAM.

So, after creating a fairly extensive and involved (for me) timeline, I saved it and rendered it. Two days later, I needed to go back into the timeline to make some changes. So, I selected "Import Media". Then, I navigated to the saved (not the rendered) timeline and selected it. It then appeared in my Project Media window. I clicked and dragged it onto my blank timeline. It was then that I noticed that all of the video tracks (approx. 7) and audio tracks (approx. 8) were merged into one video track and audio track. And, because they were merged, there were no delineated separations between each cut; and, instead of there being a still for each of my 5 subjects, there were only 2. So, I have no idea where each video track starts and stops. Now, I currently am using a trial version. But, I don't think that should be the problem here. And, to be clear about my question/concern, I am asking the following: "How do I get back all of my delineated, separated timeline segments, each on its on video/audio track?" I have used Sony Vegas in the past; but, never have I ran into this problem when, after closing out my workable file and going back into it, I found that I couldn't see all of my separated media on their different tracks. Please, someone help me here! Thank you!
