Problem with stills...help please

Hello,

I've obviously pressed the wrong key somewhere but am at a loss as to what exactly I did. When I capture a still from the timeline, and I am using color correction, I can see on the preview window the half of the still that is corrected and the half that is not. My problem is that when I look at my still, it looks exactly the same as the preview window. In other words half of my still is color corrected and the other half is not. It was working before in that the whole still was a color corrected jpg. Now it is not. I get half and half. What did I do and how can I correct this problem???

Common mistake... we see this sort of problem reported at least several times per week.

Look on the preview monitor window. Click the icon which is fourth over from the left (black circle). That will switch off what you have inadvertently switched on.

I'm sure you can figure out from there what you did and what that little Icon is for.

Thanks for the help, but I seem to still have a problem. Before I was able to see the affected/unaffetced, video/still on the preview window as half affected and half unaffected. I was able to make a still jpg and have the jpg come out as completely affected. Now when I take the still, it is 50% affected and 50% untouched. Here is what I do:
Click on the down arrow - "FX Bypasssed" is selected.
I then selct "Select Left Half"
I then see that the left half is unaffected video while the right half is the processed video. Now in the past have been able to take a snapshot and get a fully processed picture. Not any more!
According to the manual...I should select the down arrow and select "FX Bypasssed". Then I should select the "Split Screen Select" Button. The curser becomes a cross and I can select one of the presets to see the half/half screen. What is happening is that the "Split Screen Select" button is depressed at the same time that I select "FX Bypassed", and the curser immediately becomes a cross. It si not working as it was and I really would like to get this fixed if possible. Please help again.

Let's try again.

just CLICK the icon - so that it is now "de-selected" (i.e. not active). Don't select the drop-down and choose anything there.

And by the way... this feature is ONLY affecting the preview. When you render the effect WILL be applied to the whole frame.

Let me try to explain what this feature does.

When you do click the split-screen-view Icon the cursor changes to a cross-hair. This allows you to drag-select any box area on the preview monitor. This then will show just that portion of the frame without the FX applied. This allows you to see the before/after of your FX. Alternatively - instead of doing this "drag-select" thing you can use one of the drop-down options to select either the left-half or right-half or ALL of the frame to be shows without the FX applied).

Just remember how to disable this feature JUST CLICK on that icon to disable it.
