Problem with Trimmer Window

What am I overlooking? When I open a wav file (which starts at the very beginning of my Vegas 2.0h audio project) in the trimmer window..... the ruler doesn't match up. There is a 2 meaure silence at the beginning of the project (which is included as blank wav) but it shows up as measure 3 in the trimmer window. I get distortion with using the two rulers in time mode (I prefer both were in measure/beats mode). Hitting the button "match frame rate to project) does nothing (I think because it is a wav file)..... What did I miss?

Thanks in advance.

Take care

try explaining exactly what you are trying to accomplish... maybe we can help you figure it out.

Lets say I have 4-5 takes of an accoustic piano tune. I am trying to assemble the best one. I know that I want to replace measures 9-16 in take #1 (which is sitting in the main Vegas window) with those measures in take #2, sitting in the trimmer window. As I play to click tracks... usually cutting and pasting by measures is fine (I know I can make additional adjustments after I have the segment in place). So I want to open take #2 in the trimmer window and, using the ruler there (which has been set to measure/beats as is the ruler in the main window), selected and cut out measure 9-16 and move them to take #1. I know there are work arounds... just dragging the wav up to the main window for example, but the trimmer is a cool idea... just can't get it to work!
