Problem with Windows Media On-Demand Producer

I started fooling around with streaming video on my web page. I used the 'Publish To Web page option' in VidFact2. On the .html page it produced i saw where you could download the above program in the subject heading. I DL-ed that program and installed it. Now my Sonic Foundry apps will not open. The title screen comes up and it starts scanning for audio plug-ins. When I hit Ctrl-Alt-Del, it shows that the apps are 'not responding'. I encountered this recently when I installed Adobe Premiere6 to check the competition. The same problem was caused by removing a supposedly unshared file. I reinstalled Adobe, uninstalled it, and left the unshared file. Problem fixed. That did not work for the Windows Media On-Demand Producer. It seems that this problem is related to DirectX and streaming media apps. Also, Unreal Tournament is 'Not Responding'. If anyone has encountered this or similar problems your help would be greatly appreciated.

These are some other things that I have done so far to try and fix the problem:
-uninstall/reinstall VideoFactory2 and SoundForge5
-reinstall DirectX 8
-reinstall Media Runtime 6

The apps still won't open.

What the F is going on? I read all the threads involving my problem. NO ONE, not even Sonic Foundry, seems to have any advice for those in my situation (other than the uninstall/reinstall process, which by the way is usually the first thing one does in my situation). I go to open SoundForge5 to see what version I have and the SOB decides it's tired of torturing me, and finds the plug-ins immmediately. Same with VidFact. I see that my problem is not too common, but surely SF could address this issue. I'm not complaining, just letting SF (if they read these threads) know the deal. I am running ME just in case the problem-solvers want to know. Maybe my problems are solved. Hope that the readers have enjoyed my self-correspondence. See ya.

I would revert to last known good configuration, which for you (I think) is:

Uninstall On Demand Producer and anything else you installed between the time things worked and stopped working.

Check VideoFactory or Forge. Still not working?

Re-install DirectX8.0a and the DV updater

Still not working? Hanging on DirectX plugins? try using this to find the culprit plug-in:

If you are still stuck after doing all this, post more info here, especially: what is the exact error message you are getting?
