Problems between video clips

Hello!

i'm using DVgate to capture minidv video on my Vaio.
and it splits the video into 2048mb size files. When i drag and drop them into
Vegas 5.0 ... it creates this verrrry small overlap with a
crossfade between each video clip, therefore creating a
split second of lost video.

ALSO...if i just double click a video clip to add it to the timeline---
the audio part of each file...is a little shorter
than the video part of the file.

I have tried the following (with no luck):

1. options > pref. > editing >
"Automatically overlap multiple selected media when added"
box was already UNchecked.

2. i changed the "default pause between cd tracks" from 2:00 to 0:00

3. and i messed with some other settings like the above.

PLEASE help me! thanks in advance.

Have you tried using the VidCap program that is included with Vegas? I've never had that sort of problem when using it.

no...i haven't tried the capture prog that came with vegas.
i didn't have this problem with vegas 4.0 - so i figured
that i was just missing some obvious setting...(or not so obvious)

ALSO, i forgot to state that...not only the audio is a hair shorter than the video. BUT on a different video clip that i added to the timeline, the video
was a hair shorter than the audio. this is just mind-boggling.

but like i said... i don't think that it's my dv capturing program...because
everything worked fine when i was using vegas 4.0 ------

In 4.0 , i always had a full size triangle directly above the time line between the clips. Now in 5.0, i get that little half triangle that indicates a crossfade between the tracks.
