You need to know which video codec is used in these MP4 files first, see here:

Judge from the title, Sony FDR-AX53.

XAVC S, AVCHD, and MP4 Codecs

The FDR-AX53 records 4K and HD movies in the XAVC S format, which uses MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 for video compression and linear PCM for audio compression, while saving files in a MP4 wrapper which allows for extensive record times and easy editing. Additionally, you can chose to record HD in AVCHD (ideal for HDTV and Blu-ray disc burning) or MP4 (ideal for sharing over the internet).

I think you are recording in XAVC S format?

Probably not yet supported with MVS Platinum 13.

My Sony a5100 records 1920x1080 in XAVC S and this worked in VMS 12 (and in V14). Looking at the error message (but also knowing that my native language is English), are you creating proxy files? I think that VMS may make them automatically for 4k video (so you may not have a choice to turn it off).

Additional thoughts to help troubleshoot:

  • Can you import other types of videos?
  • Have you made any changes in the last few weeks to your computer?
  • Would you like to post a small video from to see if someone in the community can load it into their VMS 13? That would help us understand whether there is an issue with VMS handling your video file or whether it is something to do with your computer.
