Problems opening Vegas files after format of C: drive

Hello,

I've been using vegas Video 3.0 exclusively more tracking and mixing in my recording studio for several years now. I'm extremely happy with the program.

I had some problems with my C: drive and decided to replace it. Now that I've done so I can not open any of my previous Vegas files. This is an extreme problem. I've got many 99% finished mixes that need retouching and I've got a number of files that are multiple edits that I would never be able to guess where they go simply by importing .wav files into a new Vegas file.

It seams that everything works fine when I start with a brand new template of Vegas, but I simply can not open my previously created files.

When I click on a previous mix, Vegas opens (as it usually does), it begins to load up each track and just before it finishes the first one, I get an error.

When I click on okay, I get a "Software must shut down error" and by clicking on okay the enire the program shuts down.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Brandon

By any chance, had you upgraded to Vegas 3.0c before the format and then installed Vegas 3.0, 3.0a, or 3.0b after the format? Vegas 3.0c projects can only be opened in 3.0c. They're not backwards compatible with previous releases.

You have LOST data required for these projects. Unless you told it otherwise Vegas will store project information in you "Documents and Settings" folder which is in the root of C: By formating you have deleted it. Hopefully you backed-up before formating and can recover from there.
