Problems Rendering AVI and Quicktime

Having problems rendering both avi and quicktime (.mov) files in Vegas Pro 9. Avi renders, but doesn't give me one file...it breaks up my file into multiple files, so I'm unable to burn it to DVD Architect. As for trying to render quicktime, when I choose "render as", it jumps immediately to 100% and the file really doesn't render.

I am using Vista 64bit. Could that be the problem? I am using the most current quicktime.

Thanks for your help.

Sounds like the drive you are rendering to is formatted as FAT32 instead of NTFS. Is this an external or internal drive? (not your system drive, but the drive you are rendering your file to)

You're absolutely correct! I am rendered to an external drive and I believe it is formatted as a FAT32 but it does have 250gig space. Guess I should try renderd to an internal drive? Thanks!

You can convert the external drive to NTFS. Just save any files to another drive before you do it.

Glad I could help. That is a common problem with external drives. The come formatted as FAT32 in order to be compatible with Mac and PC.

Enjoy!!!!!!

Okay, that's great. I didn't realize that and wouldn't have even thought to check the format of the external drive. We are now in the processing of cleaning all of external drives and reformatting.

Thanks again!!
