Problems with Install Version 6

I picked up a demo copy of version 6 at the NAB and I'm back in the hotel room intstalling it. I get two errors when I try and start the software both related the the media manager. The first is a complaint about SQL and not having permission to use it.

The second complains about an inability to initialize Media Manager and the service will be unavailable, which relates to the first error message.

Then the software attempts to load and hangs with a sort of shell formed. Same thing happens with DVD architect.

Actually, if I wait a couple of minutes (literally) it will eventually load both pieces of software. It takes about 3 minutes.

I loaded ACID 5, which uses Media Manager. You really have to let the pc alone for a good few minutes. No idea what is going on under the bonnet .. .but is is MS doing its thang! Once completed, I usually close down and do a full reboot and then ANOTHER too! I do this before I open up any new s/w packages I just installed. I know, tempting to leap straight in.

Grazie

Thanks. I disabled Media Manager for the time being and it stops the error messages when I start the program. It still takes a few moments longer than I would like before the program is in a state where it can be used.

I wonder why their install doesn't think it has permission to get into ODBC?
